Home School Agreement

The Student will:

  • Strive to seek the highest standards in academic and extra-curricular work - by being ready to learn and participate in Academy activities
  • Show respect and concern for others at all times - by being polite and helpful to all staff, visitors, peers and members of the wider community
  • Attend the Academy regularly, be punctual and well-equipped
  • Support the Academy’s standards and high expectations, and adhere to guidelines on learning, behaviour, discipline and uniform

 

The Family will:

  • Take an active and supportive interest in your child’s work, their progress and in the Academy generally
  • See that your child attends the Academy regularly, is on time and is properly dressed and equipped
  • Check your child’s Student Planner and support them in their homework
  • Let the Academy know about any concerns or information which may affect your child’s life at the Academy
  • Inform the Academy about any absences
  • Attend parent consultation events and discussions about your child’s progress
  • Agree to your child’s image being used for Academy publicity purposes, I.T and media lessons from time to time
  • Seek to participate in the events and the activities of the Academy community

 

 The Academy will:

  • Encourage the full development of the talents of each individual student
  • Provide a broad and balanced curriculum which seeks to meet the needs of each individual student
  • Establish and maintain strong communications with the parents as a basis for building close co-operation between home and the Academy - letting parents know promptly about any problems or concerns
  • Value each student and ensure fair treatment of all students by enforcing and monitoring a code of behaviour
  • Send regular assessments on your child’s progress
  • Set, mark and monitor homework and provide homework facilities at the Academy
  • Arrange parent consultations events to discuss your child’s progress, and respond in a professional way to requests for information and assistance
  • Enable and encourage families to become involved in the community of the Academy
